Lilley's Cycling coach Alison Lilley

About Your Coach

At 19 years of age I purchased my very first bicycle as a means of transportation & what a journey it's been since then!

Initially I undertook a coaching course to further my knowledge as a racer & later became a volunteer cycling coach to put something back into the sport. Volunteering led to a full time job opportunity with British Cycling & I was a Regional Development Coach for over 12yrs. I’d always wanted to work locally though so going solo to establish Lilley’s Cycling was the next natural step.

I've coached thousands of children & adults in multiple cycling disciplines from grass roots level to aspiring talented athletes, including some who have gone on to represent Great Britiain.  The challenges are diverse just like the environments  I worked in which include muddy fields, village halls, school playgrounds, Olympic velodromes, BMX tracks & even the Houses of Parliament!

As a cyclist I've toured solo around Australia, raced independently & as part of a team in various countries on the road & track, As a younger racer I won the Women's National Track Omnium Series. More recently, as a Master, I have won my age group 3 times in the Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo World Series event & won a bronze medal in the World Masters track championships. In 2019 I became a British National Masters road race champion & continue to race on the road & track often against young women I taught as children which is pretty damn hard!

I love helping others by passing on my wealth of knowledge & experience & seeing the improvements whether you're just starting out, returning to cycling or have sporting aspirations like myself.

I look forward to meeting you soon to help you achieve your goal whatever that might be.
